“Free” and Walt Disney World don’t usually happen in the same sentence.
(Unless we’re talking about Free Dining and that’s a whole ‘nother topic.)
When you invest in a vacation, it’s nice to know where there’s some free stuff that’s not going to cost you any extra dough, right?
Right upfront, there’s way more than five (5) things you can do or get for free at Walt Disney World. Yes, some are in the parks, but for most guests, you are already going into the parks. There are some little known things you can do that are outside your major attractions and entertainment.
Here we go…
1. Taste Coca Cola Flavors from around the world
At Club Cool in Epcot, you can taste test different brands of Coca Cola from around the world. As much as you want. Now, the cups are teeny tiny, but it’s still fun and free. Make sure to try the Beverly and let us know what you think.
2. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
This interactive game is free and the trading cards have come to be collectible and memento favorites at the WDWarrior house. Haven’t heard about this one yet? Check out our review.
3. Movies Under The Stars
Several resorts will play a nightly Disney movie on one of those blow up screens. It’s free to any Walt Disney World guest.
4. Be a Wilderness Explorer
Get your free field guide at Animal Kingdom, nearly Discovery Island. As you complete the activities, you get a “badge” sticker to place in your Wilderness Explorer book. More than 30 badges are available. You can do this as an individual or with a group. Here’s Disney’s info on this activity.
5. Photo Ops
There are so many souvenir and memento photo opportunities that with only five (5), I decided to glom them together.
Have you made it rain with the Singin’ in the Rain umbrella?
Have you posed in the stocks in Liberty Square?
Have you flown through Endor on the Speeder Bike?
What about making a call in the red phone booths at the United Kingdom in Epcot?
(Hmmm…methinks we should have a tutorial on the photo opps one could have on a Walt Disney World vacation…)
Do you have any favorite free things at Walt Disney World that you think are tops?
